Daniel Jonas is a woodworker, metalworker, and maker from Odenton, MD. He grew up in Connecticut where he began his woodworking education, which he further honed at The University of Maine, Orono. He has worked for a variety of woodworking education centers, including the Silvermine Arts Center in New Canaan, CT, as well as The Woodworkers Club in Rockville, MD. His passion for woodworking lead him to continuing his higher education at Towson University, where he graduated with a Master in Fine Arts degree in studio art. He currently works for The George Washington University Corcoran School of Art and Design as their Wood and Metals Lab Technologist.

He is experienced in many woodworking processes, including power tool and hand tool mill work, steam bending, CNC processing, laser engraving and cutting, as well as traditional joinery.

Daniel also has experience working different materials, including metals, plastics, glass, ceramics, foam, wax, often mixing media for technically complex constructions.

Update as of January 2026-

The joy that Daniel finds in woodworking pushes him to continue learning, where he recently took a "5-Minute" Dovetail class taught by Bob Van Dyke of the Connecticut Valley School of Woodworking at The Woodworkers Club, a master in the realm of traditional woodworking.
